UrbanRider ("we," "us," or "our"), developed by the UrbanRider Team, operates the UrbanRider mobile application (the "App") and provides a navigation service tailored for moped riders (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our App. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information:
- Location Data: Real-time GPS data to provide navigation, route planning, and traffic updates. This is collected only when the App is in use, unless you enable "Always" location permissions.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app version to optimize performance and ensure compatibility.
- Usage Data: Features used (e.g., voice navigation, saved destinations), route history, and interaction patterns to improve the Service.
- Optional Data: Name, email, or other details if you contact support or save preferences, provided voluntarily.
We do not collect personal identifiers (e.g., name, address) unless you provide them, and we do not require account creation.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Deliver navigation services, including route optimization and real-time guidance.
- Enhance app functionality, fix bugs, and update maps based on usage patterns.
- Provide support and respond to your inquiries.
- Ensure safety by avoiding unsuitable roads (e.g., highways) and offering smoother routes where possible.
We retain data only as long as necessary for these purposes and may delete it when it’s no longer needed, subject to legal requirements.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:
- Service Providers: Third parties who assist with map data, analytics, or app maintenance, under strict confidentiality agreements.
- Legal Obligations: Authorities if required by law or to protect our rights and safety.
No data is shared for advertising purposes unless you opt in, and you can manage this in the app’s settings.
4. Cookies, Analytics and Advertising
Our website (urbanrider.app) uses Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, to understand in aggregate how visitors use the site so we can improve it. We use Google Consent Mode: the analytics tag is present on every page, but by default consent is set to denied, so before you accept it stores no cookies on your device and cannot identify you. In this state Google receives only anonymous, cookieless signals used for aggregate measurement. Google's advertising and ad-personalisation signals are denied at all times.
Cookies and identifying analytics require your consent. On your first
visit a cookie banner lets you accept or decline two categories separately, Analytics
and Marketing (Accept all, Decline all, or Save your choices). Only if you allow
Analytics does Google Analytics set its first-party cookies (such as _ga and
_ga_<id>) and process data such as the pages you view, an approximate
location derived from a truncated IP address, your device and browser type, and the
pages that referred you. Google acts as our processor, and some data may be transferred
to Google servers outside your country under Google’s data-transfer safeguards. If you
Decline, or ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set; the only thing stored is a
strictly-necessary cookie that remembers your choice.
Meta (Facebook) pixel, for advertising measurement. Our website also uses
the Meta pixel, provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, to measure how our marketing
performs and, where we advertise, to build and reach audiences. Unlike the analytics tag,
the pixel is only loaded if you allow the Marketing category; before that it is
never placed on the page. Once loaded it sets Meta cookies (such as _fbp) and shares data about
your visit (the pages you view and technical details) with Meta, which acts as an
independent controller for its own advertising purposes, including possible transfers to
Meta servers outside your country under its safeguards. This is separate from the app: the
Urban Rider app itself carries no advertising and does not sell your data. If you Decline
or withdraw consent, the pixel is not loaded and its cookies are removed.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the cookie button at the bottom-left of any page. Choosing Decline returns analytics to the cookieless, non-identifying state, unloads the Meta pixel, and clears the cookies both set, and you can also block cookies in your browser. 5. Data Security
We use encryption to protect your data during transmission and storage. However, no method is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection. You use the Service at your own risk.
6. Your Privacy Choices
- Location Access: You can limit location sharing to "While Using the App" or disable it in your device settings.
- Data Deletion: You can request deletion of your usage data by contacting us at support@urbanrider.app. Route history is stored locally and can be cleared in the app settings.
- Notifications: Opt out of non-essential messages via the app or by following the unsubscribe link in emails.
7. Third-Party Links
The App may contain links to third-party sites (e.g., privacy policy pages). We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
8. Children’s Privacy
UrbanRider is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we learn of such collection, we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted here with the updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
